Kris K. Samaddar, MD

Kris Samaddar grew up in southern Indiana.  He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biochemistry while also earning 3 letters for the Men’s Swim Team.  He received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine.  Additionally, he holds a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from Purdue University and in Physiology and Biophysics from Indiana University. Kris completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Henry Ford Health Sciences in Detroit, Michigan. He is board certified by the American Board of Emergency and is a fellow for the American College of Emergency Physicians.  He has been with Scottsdale Emergency Associates since 2007 and has served as the Director of Human Resources and is currently the Chairman and Medical Director of the Emergency Department at the Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Campus. Kris has multiple areas of interest including ED sepsis management, patient satisfaction, ED throughput and ED culture development. He also lead in the creation of the Scottsdale Emergency Associates Scribe program that now employs greater than 40 future health care professionals.

Kris is married to one of his medical school classmates – Kristen.  She is a Pediatrician and associate residency director for the Pediatric Residency Program at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Kris and Kristen have 3 children.  Kris enjoys swimming, running and playing his guitar.

 

Fun fact: Kris’s  identical twin Rob also works as a physician with Scottsdale Emergency Associates.
